I bought some PSB plug plants back in Oct and kept them in a plastic greenhouse until Jan but they didnt grow much.

When I got my normal greenhouse in Jan I planted them on and didn't hold out much hope of anything much happening or have much idea what to do next  ;D

They have grown and are huge and I realise now they should have gone outdoors, they have produced some spindly shoots but are starting to flower before the shoots fill out at all so I guess I have done something very wrong

Is it too hot for them in the greenhouse if they are flowering? Should I plant them out (but I am worried about clubroot as I bought them rather than sowing them)

Maybe they have matured too late due to their poor start?

If I plant them out will the root disturbance kill them or should they just go outside in their pots?

I am really sorry for the ramble  ??? any help would be much appreciated

As you say, they should be out side and the heat will 'force' them.

They do have a perfect picking time and once the yellow flowers appear, they have gone too far.

Most of us gather the shoots and young leaves and steam the lot together, straight after picking.

Perhaps, it is just better to call it a learning curve and start again. For next year.

Now is a very good time to plant PSB seeds indoors. You can pot them on and plant out as soon as there is space for overwintering and giving greens in spring, when there is little else about.

As you say the plants get quite large and sometimes benefit from support.

Thank you very much, I will remove the flowering plant and put the rest outdoors as they have not started to sprout and I guess I may get lucky yet.

Its all a very steep learning curve but I am willing to learn!

That's good to know. I realised yesterday that I haven't sown any broccoli yet.

what about broccoli Romanesco? it says to plant in pots for harvest the following spring but when do you plant it outside - I only have the plastic cover type greenhouse thing.
