Hi all,

I'm new on here and new-ish to gardening (third summer this year) and I'm trying courgettes for the first time this year.  I've got some Paradors growing in containers on the windowsill waiting to be planted out when the weather decides to play ball.  Now, my question is this: do they need staking up?  Or are they supposed to be left to sort of flop on the ground?  I'm sure this is a very silly question but haven't been able to work out whether it is a bush or cordon variety (yes, I know I should have worked that out before buying the seeds, but there you go...  ::)).

Please help!

hiya, hild, welcome to a4a  ;D
we've not grown this one, ours have all been bush type, no doubt an expert will be along soon  ;D

My favourite yellow courgette! I'm behind you though, only sowed my first batch the other day.

One of the reasons I like these so much is that they do not sprawl like other courgettes, the fruits appear in the centre and just 'stack up', so to answer your question it is a bush type and will not need staking.
If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Thanks, that's what I wanted to hear!  Awf'ly pleased by everything that can be left stakeless, means I can concentrate on my toms!  Which are totally taking over the conservatory at the moment...
