Inky

Im going out shortly to buy all my seeds, and will start to sow a load into my propagators.
I can remember my ,mum saying before that when planting carrots and sowing them directly outside, to plant just a few each week, in order for them to be ready for pulling at different times instead of all at once.
Are there any other veg that you would recomend doing this with? Things like cauliflour and brocolli? Dont really want to feel like we have to eat 10 cauliflours in one week!!

As much as you can cope with...
as an aside I'm always staggered by how much planting needs doing at this time of the year!  ;D

Hi Inky i find it normally tells you on  the back of the packets when you should make regular sowings to insure regular supply.

I am still learning also so if it tells me to make regular sowings every 2-3 wks i make a note on the calander then make a note 2-3 wks later to sow more and so on.

Hope this helps

I always have intentions to do this, but it never happens, I'm not organised enough! On the other hand, I've never had to throw any veg away yet-if I've got too much at once I just freeze it, make soup or give it away to friends!

SPUDLY

I try to stagger my planting but it never happens. When its time to start planting and ive got the seeds in my hand, its like an addiction once i start i cant stop ;D

Certainly do successional with all your salad crops.  Peas will also need successional cropping. Other veg depends upon variety.  Instructions will tell you if stuff can remain in the ground for long periods.
All you do and all you see is all your life will ever be

every year i try, but was mildly successful last year, this year i am going to be very successful ;), time will tell :-\

p.s like every one said the packets normally guide you.
