Just shallots a couple of weeks ago, that's hardly "sowing" though... speedwell are coming through strongly now, if it doesn't snow this week may try some direct sowing next weekend...  :)

I have some onions in and put some raspberries in last november, thats it at the mo.

garlic has been in a few weeks.  a few potatos are in a pot for "the challenge".  artichokes (jerusalem) and shallots went in to ground yesterday when the respective areas were cleared.  chinese artichokes were dug up from pots and replanted as well.  I have only just started digging my new garden, so this years planting will be peacemeal... its a slow job as a spade depth below is a layer of sandstone which needs to be dug up... its hard work... its like digging up small patio slabs... luckily my partner is very helpful at the hard work!!!  ;D

carrots and parsnips will start going into (large) tubs soon, as the ground will not be cleared in time for them

I think I have decided to use the sandstone as crazy paving paths on a layer of sand... otherwise I'll be carting many car loads of stone to the tip... may save me money too... (if the sandstone is strong enough for paths)

garlic and broad beans over winter.  Broad beans went in in mid Dec!  BUT they still came up and are about an inch high now.  Shallots and early onions last week.  planning to sow beetroot this week or maybe next.  Oh and replanted jerusalem artichokes in around Nov as I dug them up for eating.

yes this weekend I started some early carrots, radish and beetroot, plus some "Early Onward" peas. The broad beans went in a fortnight ago and they are starting to how.
But we are a bit warmer here than you folk in the UK. It was 15deg C on Friday!!
2012 - Snow in February, non-stop rain till July. Blight and rot are rife. Thieving voles cause strife. But first runner beans and lots of greens. Follow an English allotment in urban France: http://roos-and-camembert.blogspot.com

Sowed shallots and peas today at the allotment.  Trying to contain myself as I don't want to sow things too early this year.

I have sown the peas in my tunnel thing so am not sure how they are going to do, but hopefully it will protect them from birds and all the nasties
