Hi all

I bought 4 gypsophila paniculata in poundstretcher, and they're in a generic 'summer flowering bulb' packet. But they're not bulbs, so the instructions on the packet are redundant.

They look like long tapering roots, a bit like a bendy scorzonera.

I didn't know whether they should be planted growing straight down into the soil, or horizontally nearer the top of the soil. So I settled for a sort of diagonal, with the tiny leaves just poking out of the soil.

Does anyone know whether I did the right thing?

I'd pot them up "diagonally " for now... and see how they do...  :-\

As long as the roots are underground, they're unlikely to care!
