HARPENDEN - schools info needed please

Does anyone here know about primary schools in Harpenden, Herts? My son and family are hoping to move there soon and want to know about good schools in the area  for their little girl.  Thanks.

I would say that nearly all of them are good or better but that the results of a few are scewed as a result of well off parents being able to pick and choose the school that their child goes to by buying a house in the 'right' post code thus schools in the 'wrong' post code look worse because of the cohorts.

Take my word for it, league tables and OfSTED can be very misleading.  The only way to guage a school, is to go and visit it.

i would also arrange a visit and if the child is old enough, followed by a day there to gauge the atmosphere better. thats what we did when my daughter then age 8yrs asked to start school last year.
