hi folks,as our car has recently packed in,we arent driving to the lottie as of yet,so dont want to start our seeds off at home as usual,as will be hard to carry them on the bus/40 mionute walk/in the back of our lovely mates car,so was wondering if the greenhouse will be warm enough to do them all in there,we have some bubble wrap to line the walls to improve the heat by a couple of degrees?
thanks in advance

Am I right in thinking the greenhouse is on your plot?
It seems some way from home to go there for watering etc.?
Bit early for sowing at the moment, this weather is expected to go on for 2 more weeks.

I line my greenhouse at the lottie with poloysyrene (2" thick) up to the eaves, and Bubblewrap the roof. also put a bale of straw and a 200lt waterbutt in as a heat sink. You can hold of a frost to -3 if it's only overnight, not a prolonged spell of minus temps. I find it useful for peas, and onions, but I wouldn't rely on it for too much stuff.

Another alternative on the same principals as Tony,s is to line the greenhouse walls and roof with bubble wrap, then make a skirt arround the your shelving to keep the heet under it so the roots of the plant are kept warm. Then put another above the shelf to trap the heet in above the shelf. You have to remember tho you are sacrificing some light for heat.

Both good ideas tony & davy,
I think I'll wait for Spring - less effort?
