OK Mantis lovers - do you use Mantis attachments?

I am looking to buy the 4 stroke mantis tiller with some attachments.  Different packages are available with various attachments.  Is it worth buying them or are they a waste of money?  Could I please ask for opinions on the following:

• Border Edger Attachment
• Kickstand
• Planter Attachment
• Plough Attachment
• Dethatcher Attachment
• Aerator Attachment

Many thanks.

Have you looked here?  There is a freephone telephone number for queries.    This is where I will be buying from.  It does not mention if it comes assembled or not but you can pay with 4 installments instead of one,  interest free too.

Hi    thats the site I have been looking at.  £339 with kick stand and edger.   If you click onto 'shop now'    you will see a list of boxes to fill in.  One says ready assenbled and you have to click no thanks or yes.  If you tick yes a fee comes up of £30.   I would like to know which to do.

It really depends on how good you at fitting machinery, personally it's not worth £30, but if you're not knowledgeable about machinery it may be. If it's not assembled it comes in several parts which are easy to put together. I've got the electric one but I think the petrol ones are much the same.

Save yourself £30 and put it together yourself - it is easy-peasy.  Just had to bolt the handle together and connect the wires (which were already attached to the handles).  Erm.....I have the plough attachment ..... but I have never used it.   :-[   I just deep-rotovate the line where I am going to plant my spuds - just to make it dead loose to shovel out.....but one day?!  I also have the edger (it was "free") but have never used this either.   ::)

What do you mean by "connect the wires" please?  I don't do electricity wiring.   Shock horror at the thought.
KT when are you hoping to buy?  I was thinking March.
Thanks for interest .  Will keep you posted.

I was thinking of buying now before the spring.  The sales will stop and prices of this stuff usually rise in spring.

They currently sell the 4 stroke for £339 with edger and kickstand; you can add another 2 of the other attachments totalling £399 for 4.

I have just received a reply email this morning - They will sell me all  6 attachments with the mantis as a package for £489. (Well... if you don't ask....     Don't know if  would use a dethatcher although I will use the aerator) OH may go nuts if I treat myself that much just after chrimbo 8) ;D 8)  May just opt for the garden pack....  decisions decisions

Had the smaller Mantis for about 14 years. I like it. Attachments I use;

• Border Edger Attachment
• Planter/furrower Attachment
• Cultivator Attachment

All worth getting.

Kenkew   what is the cultivator please?    What does it do?   I can't find it on the online site.  Things for lawns , edging  etc..

Just ordered my Mantis 4 Stroke Gardening Pack 5 minutes ago.  It includes the border edger, kickstand, planter and plough attachments.  So I did not go overboard (and to keep the OH on side),  my birthday wishlist in May will include the plant guard, aerator attachment and service pack ;).    It should arrive next week.  Whooo Whoooooooo 8) 8) 8)

Mine came with the cultivator/tiller tines. ( 14 years ago).Depends on which way you put the tines on as to what they do. Extra ones like the border edger is good for cutting a straight line along a lawn for instance. One side of the Mantis has the 'cutting' wheel, the other side has a proper wheel for balance.
I have an adobe maintenance manual. I can forward a copy to anyone. It goes through the assembly, maintenance and operation procedures. (For the 2stroke)
