It's in the post; sorry about the delay. It's heading for the wilds east of Colonia Domitianum Lindensium.

Not sure where everyone lives but would this be Mickey this time? And if I've got it wrong again I'll promise to zip it in future!  ;D

That tape normally works fine, so I wonder why it should have failed this time? I'll get something else for future parcels. Hopefully the contents hadn't all dropped out!

Hi Folks,

All packed up in a new padded bag, the parcel is on it's way again ....
friendly Village Postman took it in his 'Postman Pat' van at 12:30 hrs today.

It is heading for the Town of Liqourice Cakes ?

Postie says it should be there tomorrow (Thursday) as the destination sorting office is only 60 miles from ours.

Cheers Mikey

Oh my goodness - is it me?  I can smell those being made most days as I don't live far from the sweet factory.  ;D

cheerfulness

It's here already! You are AMAZING Mikey!  :-*

I believe I really might have scared my postie as I met him at the door and whipped it out his hand.
He clearly hadn't grasped the urgency of the matter and was faffing with  bundling up my other letters - bills no doubt, as if I was interested in them!

Anyway, I shall look through it quickly today and  add my bits and post on to the next person tomorrow hopefully.

Okay, its all packaged back up again and ready to go off first thing in the morning.  :)

Its not travelling too far from me, to our 'royal' friend in South Yorkshire. (I know, my clue is pathetic but I did say I could guess not give  :-[ )

I hope the person isn't away on holiday as they haven't been on for a few days. Here's holding my breath.  :-X

Quick question - I took a few of the Gourds (small fruited mixture) and I'm not sure if they are edible or ornamental. Will the person(s) in the know please advise.  ;)

My lovely dad has phoned and confirmed that he dropped the parcel off at PO first thing.  ;D

Suzanne

Gourds are usually inedible and more for decoration as they are fairly bitter - some of the shapes though can be fun. I have seen some that have been made into birdhouses, or painted to look like snakes and swans.

I am sure that the person who put them in can advise further though.

cheerfulness

Thanks Suzanne - my son is growing the bottle gourd ones (think they might be the birdhouse ones) and I know he can't eat those.  :)

Robert_Brenchley

I didn't put the packet in, but I remember it, and I'm sure they're ornamental rather than edible.

beckydore

I put the packet in but I can't remember if I put in the packet with the pic on the front or just some seeds from the packet - will go and check my seed box.

Gourds small fruited mixture

Sow in pots from April, do not plant out until they have 4 true leaves.
Direct sowing from May - 2 - 3cm deep.

To use fruits for decoration, keep on the plant as long as possible but harvest before the first frost.

cheerfulness

Thanks Beckydore - really looking forward to trying those.  ;D

beckydore

The picture of them has different colours and shapes - some look like halloween pumpkins, others are gren, some green and oranfe striped or orange and white striped. some round, some bottle shaped.

cheerfulness

Sound brilliant. My son is going to love those - he's 15 but has just really discovered the 'magic' of watching his seeds germinate... I was praying his french beans weren't duds but they've finally come good. PHEW!

Thanks again for the extra info.  ;)

princescruffster

What a great surprise.........didn't realise I had even made the list. Parcel arrived in wet and wild Barnsley today.  Will pass on asap.

Many thanks :D
