Our council has an Adopt-A-Street-Tree scheme so I have the two trees nearest my home.  One is a conifer and the other a betula.  When I went out this morning the betula has been broken off at the level of the stakes and ties.  It was fine when I came home last night.  This is the third time mindless morons have done the betula.  After the last time I asked the council to plant a bigger specimen that would be less vulnerable.  They planted a much taller specimen, about 15 feet, with the crown higher up.  But they still got it.  I'm afraid the council won't replace it this time.  So the vandals win.

I hate it when I see that by the roadside...  >:(

I will never understand why Morons get pleasure killing anything?  I spose that is why they get called Morons.  Sad.    :'(

Georgie

Sorry to hear that, Ceres.  It's difficult to understand the mindset of folk who do things like that.   :(

Sorry to here about your tree Ceres.  Ask the council to plant a black thorn that'll cure em.

ceres

Ha ha!  Blackthorn - that'll get the little darlings!  I think the Health and Safety brigade might have something to say about that though!  I've emailed the tree people at the council to ask if they'll re-plant something with a stouter trunk.

Our plot is about a mile away from our house. The road we drive along has loads of new saplings planted by the council ALL snapped off ... WHY???!! Little BAST*&DS they should be caught and punished but they are probably the same little darlings (9 years old) that were caught smashing up mine and others allotment sheds.  >:(

Same here.  Our sheds have been done too in the last two weeks.
