out of the varieties i received I've been able to find the growing instructions for all but two. they go by the names

  • Myth
  • Golden Plum

can anybody enlighten me on whether they can be grown inside only or can they be grown outside and are they suitable for containers.

also are they to be grown as cordons or bush.

what type of fruit to expect IE. cherry/ regular salad type/ plum/ beefstake.

and lastly the colour to expect IE. yellow, red, green, etc.

thanks in advance for the advice.

this is the question i posted to the swap post but no replies as yet so thought to post the question here where it might be read by more members, like i said before thanks in advance for the replies :).

I got Golden Plum as well, Going by the name its a plum variety for paste I would guess. Possibly being golden it may be less hardy than the red type. I will grow mine under cover.....unless we have a scorching summer forecast ::). If only, eh?

I have not hearth of Myth, other than its a female moth..................that joke's gone past its sell by date ;D ;D........I'll get me coat 8)

Hi Thifasmom

Found Golden Plum for you on http://www.amishlandseeds.com/tomatoes_yellow.htm

Myth remains a mystery.
Hopes this helps.

Thanks for that link Gargan, I would suspect it would need growing under glass in the UK :)

Couldn't find Myth either

Perhaps it is a mythstake and they were named after the grower got back from the pub.

Seriously though; with unknown varieties and knowing the origin of tomatoes (South America) I tend to grow myth named varieties under cover, with the odd one being planted outdoors then I watch how they perform.

thanks for clearing up my questions guys jokes and all ::) :). I'll pm ruud to know if i could get away with growing them out doors or in containers.

Hi thifasmom,it is a very good outside tomato. It is a bushy kind of tomato,so i think also good for growing in a container.
