More Shed Break-ins

Our site was hit this week.  When I visited on Wednesday, my neighbours shed door was flapping open.  They never leave it like that (and they haven't been around for months anyway).  The hasp was twisted out of shape and the screws pulled out of the wood.  One of their outdoor chairs had been moved inside, and there were a couple of pieces of clothing draped on it.  The window had been damaged too.  In their shed they have a large calor gas heater and a two ring stove.  I secured the door and emailed round the rest of the committee and then found out that there had been 2 other similar break-ins reported in the last 2 days.  There may well be more - there are so few people around in this weather, it might take weeks to get a true count.  The police are being helpful.  They've given us a crime number without needing individual plotholders to report it and they're coming to inspect the damage.

Our site got broken into a good few months ago. It was reported to the police and that was the last we heard, No crime number - nothing. The local community get a lot of problems around here and we can never get the police to do anything. With breakings, arson (not just sheds but houses cars etc ) On New years eve 15 cars were wrecked, a massive street fight took place two streets away from me involving about 70-80 yobs. Where were the police? most of them in the back room of our local pub and that was at 3.30 in the morning.

Sorry to hear that Powerspade.  It's self-perpetuating too, if the police don't respond, the perpetrators get braver, so more crime etc........

Another 3 break-ins were reported today and a police officer came to the site this afternoon.  So far, nothing appears to have been stolen.  Just damage {sigh}.

why don't someone remind your local police that they are supposed to be public servants? ;)
