Hi all,

Just wanted to know if anyone has any tips on how to deter badgers from my garden? Been out this morning and he's managed to dig under my fence then dug under my fence on the other side to access my neighbours garden.

I know there protected but its driving me crazy just read up and found out they love fruits especially raspberry's which doesn't sit well with me as i have a freshly planted row! last thing i want is for all my hard work to be undone by a badger!

The badger set is 2 gardens up and its huge already found a dead badger pup (if that's what there called) in the garden last year so no idea how many there are.

Any advice welcomed.

Honestly i am an animal lover just not when there ruining my garden  :P

I would have a word with the RSPCA.  They should be able to advise you.

According to my gardening tips book you can deter badgers by soaking some material in household bleach and hanging it in a net bag on the fence near to where the badger is entering your garden.  After a few weeks they will associate the area with the bad smell and avoid it, even when you have stopped using it.

Georgie just filled in the holes now going out to get some bleach what a great tip will let you know if it works fingers crossed.

If not will give the rspca a ring and see if they can help in any way.

Thanks

I think it's illegal to prevent Badgers using established paths isn't it?
