Nothing to shout about was it ::)

Froglegs

It seemed much better the short time Carol fronted it.

thifasmom

i normally can fine at least one positive thing in the programme, but this week it was very forgetful  :-\.

Froglegs

Think i will stick to Gardener's question  time far more entertaining.

Susiebelle

I agree froglegs, I would normally watch all things gardening but I cannot find anything positive to say about this current GW series it really is boring stuff and I have loads to learn, bring on Carol Klein and Chris Beardsmore who really share their enthusiasm without patronising the viewer.
As for this idea of organic up to a point ::) I really don't understand, you either are or your not its like all those Vegetarians who eat fish (Katherine Jenkins was the last person I heard say this on Saturday)  I don't care what approach you take but please stay true!!
Am I having a rant you bet >:( >:(

grawrc

I don't know if we're talking the same programme but I really enjoyed it : the pruning tips, how to plant a tree, the visit to Barnsdale's fruit alley, dealing with moth damage, tips on pond maintenance, why you should plant marginals, winter planters from recycled tree trunks, seed collecting, how to plant the seeds obtained, how to make rose hip syrup and why, planning potato comparisons, the sweet potato trials, the need to prepare soil thoroughly for good yields, how to deal with autumn leaves, protecting ponds from debris over winter.... A pretty action packed 30 minutes! :P

betula

Maybe I dozed off in the middle :-\ :) ;D

you made me laugh, cause it was only when you listed it all i did remember that there were points that interested me :-[. so it must have been the way in which it was told that made it immorable  :-\. hmmmm!

I tend to watch the old gardeners' world a lot on sky and they are so superior to recent years.. :)

grawrc

Which channel Betula? And which presenters!!? ;D

betula

UKTV Gardens

I like Alan.............Pippa Greenwood .............Rachel de something

Lots of them whose names I am not sure of.

I tend to like looking at show gardens now so I think in truth GW can't suit everybodies needs.

grawrc

Thanks Betula, I'll have a look later. :)

manicscousers

we watch lots of uktv gardens, all the oldies are on there, sometimes a geoff hamilton here and there, lately, all the victorian kitchen garden and growing veggies etc during the war..except for today, ground force, all day  :(

RSJK

Think it is about time GW was put on the compost heap, why can't we have a down to earth gardener working on a real sized garden for once, i mean how many people have got a pond the size of the one they were working on the other night, and mile long (know they are not that long ) boarders in their gardens.
Richard       If it's not worth having I will have it

Each to their own I guess. I still yearn for the return of Top of the Pops!!!

Froglegs

With 4 presenters and only 30 Min's there is no time to go into detail on any of the subjects they show, they need to get rid of two...and i know which two i would choose.

betula

and me.Tony Blackburn.Remember when he opened Radio 1.Those were the days. ;D
