but not so bad that it should go in Listening post.  Just wanted to have a bit of a whinge..........

left the house at 10.30 this morning to take some clothes for dry cleaning, usually a 15 min job.  However, today the car broke down, had to call the AA etc.  Because it is usually such a quick trip, I didn't take my phone or purse with me, so had a 10 min walk to a friends house to make the call and by the time I had returned to the car, I had been awarded a parking ticket >:(

AA arrived quickly but was determined to get the car going, did diagnostics and the works.  After two hours and numerous hints from me I was finally towed home.  The likely outcome on Monday at the garage is 4 ignition coils and spark plugs (almost sound like I know what I'm talking about) and that won't be cheap - so just as well that Woolies are doing there 3 for 2 deal on toys.

Feel better now and looking forward to tomorrow as it is lottie day ;D ;D

Thanks

Anger management.... Dig some soil over ready for winter and beat it to death with the garden fork ;D ;D
All you do and all you see is all your life will ever be

Surely you can appeal the parking ticket on the grounds that you were broken down? And you have the record of the AA callout to prove it, I'm sure the AA would give backup evidence if you need it.

betula

You can appeal and I would do so. :)

Thanks - forgot to mention that as soon as I got home, I emailed my appeal against the penalty notice and sent a copy of the AA report.

KT - deffo plan to get lots of digging done tomorrow.

Really hope your appeal is successful. I am so glad that my Grandson is a mechanic although that wouldn't stop me from getting a parking ticket. Hope the garage bill isn't too horrendous.

we had a difficult day on thursday, went shopping with my grandson(1) , when we got to the supermarket, he was wet through, pee-ed all over, including his coat  :o
went to change him(we had vest, nappies and pants), changing facilities were closed :o
changed him in the corridor, poor little mite
went to buy him a sweat shirt, paid for it and put it on
went for lunch, he decided to do something else, we sat there, surrounded by a smell, eating sandwiches
went back to the changing facilities, luckily they had some in the disabled toilets, got in, we had a nappy but no wipes, I don't know if you've tried to scrape off poo with wet toilet roll on a wriggly 1 year old on one of those baby changing things but it was lots of fun, not  ;D ;D ;D
hope you get the ticket overturned, best of luck  :)

Hey Manics - I've had a day like when my children were younger.  I was driving to my Mum's, so eldest is asleep in the back and No2 baby in the car seat in front, who suddently starts projectile vomiting - nothing I could do as we are on a dual carriageway, so he spent about 10 mins floating in the stuff :-X

I pulled into Tesco's car park and realised that I didn't have a) have enough clothes to change him into and wet wipes aren't that good for mopping up operations.  Looked around for another woman who had a kind, trusting face - found one, explained the situation and she stayed with the car while I went in and bought a kitchen role and new clothes ::)  I thanked the kind samaritan and did the clean up in the car park and eldest son slept throught the whole thing.

Aren't they great

I'll keep you up to date with progress on the fine

sounds like when we were going to manchester on the motorway with callum when he was 12 months..10 minutes from the garage, he was in the car seat in the back, ray was driving and he started projectile vomiting..he was facing forwards, luckily..I'm hanging over my seat, trying to keep my seat belt on and stop him choking on the stuff  ;D
when we got to the garage, they gave us some of the blue stuff they clean up with to help, we stripped him off and he came home wrapped in my coat..the things we do for love  ;D ;D

Just wanted to let you all know that I had a result on the parking ticket - it has been cancelled.

I was also caught on Remembrance Sunday - No1 was the standard bearer for Air Cadets and so I did the proud Mum thing, which involved taking him to cadets at 9.30 only to find that the parking charges don't start till 11am on Sundays (hmm, I thought - that could be tricky)

Sure enough, when I got back to the car at 11.40, there was a ticket waving at me.  Bashed off another 'Angry of Isleworth' letter and another result - also cancelled.
