Don't know about you folks but I'm always looking for inspiration in the kitchen! It's a bit like "What did you do in the garden today...." so many things I forget about and that thread always reminds me to do it.

We had potatoes and leeks baked in milk with steamed Italian calabrese and pork tenderloin seasoned with salt and pepper, flash fried in a little butter and olive oil then sliced.

Anyone willing to give me some ideas for tomorrow's supper  :)

betula

Shepard's pie.

We never tire of it. :)

Last night we had Chicken Chassuer (only the chicken & white weren't mine) ala James Martin from Saturday Kitchen.

Roasted parsnip, yellow carrot and Buttercup squash. Fresh sweetcorn - taken off the cob ad boiled.

Plus inspiration of the moment as I have had a good celeriace year - celeriac and swede mash. My OH who desn't like celeriac said it was the best mashed potatoes he had had ever - as very light and fluffy. I then told him no potato in it.  :)

Tonight onion tarts as per Val Warners recipe on What to eat now.

ninnyscrops

Savoury mince with butternut squash mash, peas (not mine  :() and savoy cabbage.

See it worked Betula!   ;D

Last night we had chicken breasts stuffed with haggis and whisky and tied together with streaky bacon + roast potatoes, carrots and cabbage.

Tonight pure comfort food: chilli sausages, red onions and garlicky mash.

It was lasagne for us tonight too.

I always make four individual smaller ones in ovenware dishes, rather than one big one, more washing up but easier to serve.

hey snap, i have some cute individual dishes and make everyone their own, as well as being easier to serve it means
i can vary whats in them for each person if i need to

OK it wasn't quite the envisaged chicken chasseur tonight as we both had to work late!  ::) As I'd already defrosted the joints had to do a speedy Chez Ninswhen we got in. I put them in a casserole dish with chopped onions and garlic, giant radish seed pods, salt and pepper, dried thyme and a tad of basil. Found a can of Caffreys left over from our son's last visit which needed to be used up - so that went in too. Popped it in the oven and it's cooking now, I'll thicken the sauce in the morrow.

Our cheat tonight was ham, eggs and parsnips chips.
