we get quite a bit of vandelism on the site..the problem is that  some plotters are only down every couple of weeks or so...even less in winter..  only finding out later of a smashed greenouse or a brocken in  cabin...i am down rain or shine..my idea was to have each others e-mail address to let each other  know instantly whats happened

is this a good idea or are there unforseen pitfalls

jim i think that sounds like a splendid idea,esp if everyone has acess to a pc,im sure youre fellow plot holders would only be too pleased to get involved in such a scheme.at least with email it would only take a second to send an alert,and cost you nowt,good luck

Text messaging would be better - some people only check their emails once a day (or even less)

...why not give them the choice - if they have a pc and a mobile?   But a sound and neighbourly idea.
