Hi all I want to start a strawberry patch for next year and was wondering what varieties some of you use so I can hunt some seeds or plants down  :P

Get chatting to other plot holders where you are and ask if you can have any of their runners from their strawberries, at least you know what they will be like.

The people on my allotment are very helpful, one guy said he was getting rid off all the old broad beans, i asked if he used the seeds, he said no, so i asked if i could take the seeds. He also said he was getting rid of the four blackcurrant bushes and said i could dig them up when i am ready. a lady showed me how her leeks had gone to seed and showed me the seedlings growing everywhere, she ended giving me 12 seedlings and said i could cut of the seed heads of the others if i wanted seeds for next year. I gave her some green manure seeds for a bit of her plot she had not planed to use until spring, she had not hurd of it before so was pleased.
Others have offered me strawberry plants.

It sounds like i only try and take, but i was only chatting and they were offering ;D.

I have some alpine Mignonette strawberry seeds if you would like them.
