OK lets clarify. Before anything is misread in my answer to  Flossy. I was talking about the LEEKS not my Grand daughter ... 
As Flossie reffered to the plural as " How did you do that ?  they are very impressive  " I thought this would have been quite clear..
If you want big leeks or big onions, it is dependent on the seed you start with in the first place .. There's an old saying that goes.

I begin to wonder if this was geographically misplaced  :-\

Cute little girl.
My very big boy used to look like that at that age....blonde curls and constantly mistaken for a girl....he wouldn't be pleased if he knew!
