I have Vista too and I use the Windows Calendar that comes with it.  It's basic but does all I need.  You can set it up like a diary showing a day per view and enter your appointments.  It has a task list, you can give them start and end dates, a priority and it will remind you on the date.

I use a paper diary, it sits on the fridge. I get reminded of things everytime I make coffee, eat, or just snack.

Its Microsoft proof and I don't even have to switch the PC on.

I bought Digita Organiser for the Amiga about 8 or 9 years ago. When I moved to the PC, I managed to download the PC version which they made free (and gave me the licence key code). I have used it ever since on all versions of Windows and I now use it on Ubuntu/Linux OS. Doesn't seem dependant on any version of Windows and doesn't have to be installed, just copy all the files onto your hard disk and double click on the .exe file.

 www.chaosmanager.net
has calendar, appointments, todo list, reminders.
is small, free, configurable.

I also use www.protopage.com/ for my homepage. You can fill it with sticky notes and all manner of other stuff. They say it's handy if you use more than one computer because the content is stored on the www and not on your computer.

Geoff.
You can't please all of the people all of the time, but you can't upset them all at once either.

My trouble is I'm a technophobe. 'Puters are brilliant when they work. Great for storing/sharing all sorts of useful infomation and scheduling and planning ones life.

But

When they don't work, they are a Right pain. (just ask Flunky about petrol engines.)

If you dont think stuff on computers can get lost - just ask the government.

Computers. You either swear by them, or swear at them.

Personally I'd get some stronger tape/ longer nails/pad lock/electric fence around your paper diary.

But then I spend more time in and out the fridge, than on the computer.   :-[

i think outlook has a decent diary system.

I have Post-It notes for my desktop - software not actual bits of paper. I have an old Lite version which was free and very useful. Unfortunately my old version probably won't work on vista.
