Having had so many replies for my rat problems have you any ideas how I can stop the voles from eating my potato's, rhubarb and Dahlia tubers?

Water voles are heavily protected, but I'm not sure about other types of vole.

Out of curiosity how do you know it is voles?

I have seen the little horrors. They have lots of runs near the surface whereas moles are much deeper and rats seem to stay on the surface.

Trouble is I think voles are rather cute! Completely inconsistent I know, since I'd happily blast rats and the flying ones to kingdom come - actually I'd eat the flying ones if they'd been country dwellers.

Might be worth trying a Solar Moler - it's been suggested that voles don't like them.

Presumably if this stuff worked we'd have heard about it by now?

Mouse traps or poison will sort them out. They're not very agile, and don't go far from cover.
