Help from Non-gardeners!

My friend offered to water plants at my allotment for me while i was away even though she doesn't know anything about gardening but her young daughter is interested, so i gladly accepted.
I said she could pick the produce as well and eat it.

When i came back I asked how the french beans had done knowing that they were starting to produce just as I left.
Her reply was that there had been none at all she didn't see any. I got down there today and found lots of giant beans, admittedly well hidden but i had mentioned you have to look hard for them, I picked 3/4 carrier bag and still left a lot behind!
