Thank you very much for that link, WOW, that plane is an amazing site to see.

Maybe we shall get to see it one day, plenty of detail on how to get there.
I must send that link to my -son-in-law, he works with aircraft & is very interested in the Vulcan.

Hi, Rosebud.
Yes, they are my photo's, I use a viewpoint on the back road which is closed to all except cyclists and pedestrians on display days. I do this because if you are on the airfield you are shooting into the sun (not a good idea). You also get some very good angles on the aircraft as they turn.

A group of us had complimentary tickets for the 2005 display. One of our members had photo's of the arrival of the Concorde which the I.W.M. did not have. I scanned them and processed them for him and he gave them to the I.W.M. Four of us enjoyed a very good day out on the Saturday but I went to the back road on the Sunday. I bought my Panasonic FZ10 in 2004 and have seen no reason for changing it so far. I used to use Minolta SLR's but an SLR is not the best option on a bike. I would not recommend the FZ10 for sports action shots (due to the delay on the viewfinder).

many years ago I was working at RAF Marham, norfolk. we were resurfacing part of the runway/peritrack when a vulcan came across at about 50 ft!! the world went dark!! ( we worked on many RAF/US bases in East Anglia) we were also treated to a private demonstration flight by a Buccaneer at Honiton, the day before the Queen  visited (1976/7?) just as Ark Royal was about to be scrapped.  ;)
You couldn't make it up!

Oops, bit late, but I came across some pictures taken at this year's Lowestoft Airshow.  Not too spectacular but good nonetheless

Edit:  And some more from the BBC website.  Some of these shots are fantastic.  This link is for Thursday, on the right hand side of the page, there's a link for Friday's pictures also.
