A lot can happen in 7 or 8 weeks ...
These were grown through holes cut in weed suppressant cover...

George, I thought this could be a problem slugs going under it. But it hasn't been the case at all. So the answer is no and we are finding very little slug damage if any to brassicas grown this way.. Also if the hole is marked out as a square and cut across the diagonal lines so it leaves 4 flaps these can be dropped down once plant is in and it seems we are  getting very little cut worm or root fly damage.. If the flaps are not needed as in onions etc they can be folded back under. The fabric can be  rolled  up when the crops have been harvested and rolled out somewhere else for rotation purposes..

Don't take life so seriously, it's not permanent.

Also - neat idea for the steel fencing on the right for peas etc to grow up instead of netting.  I have two  of these spare.  Will use them next year for peas.  May even use one to train my butternut squash up.  Will be a great support and save space on the ground for other things.   ;)
All you do and all you see is all your life will ever be
