thanks Sinbad7, trying to contact North Lanarkshire council regarding it but hitting a brick wall at present (their website is rubbish!)

Cheers

Hi everyone, I'm a frequent lurker and finally registered today as this site has really friendly and helpful members from my lurking observations ;). I'll like to compliment Baronvon and his/ her success so far, gosh 5ft sweetcorn with more than one cob and in pots :o. I've grown regular size sweetcorn three times now and as yet have been unable to get the plants more than 2ft in height with only 1 cob per plant, and I'm in Kent ::). I refuse to give up though, role on 2009. :-\

When God blesses you with a multitude of seeds double  the blessing by sharing your  seeds with other folks.

One of the reasons for your success is the regular feeding which helps get good results from small pots as long as they never dry out.

I would be still inclined to put the corn in bigger pots, if only to stop them falling over!

I noticed recently a neighbours greenhouse full of roof-high tomatoes with all green fruit.

At the end on a shelf was the remaining plants, still in 3 inch pots, about 18 inches high and covered in ripe (smallish) tomatoes.

An accident that I am going to try next year.
