Holes In aubergine fruits

went to the allotment yesterday and have 1 aubergine plant which im growing in the greenhouse (never grew before)
And noticed 3 of the small fruits approx 2 inches in length which had one hole each in them pretty big to! any idea as to what made them?

i took the fruit off and disposed of them and all the leaves they had eaten too
