Certainly you can eat them, they are great stuffed or battered in tempura batter and deep fried . Have recipes if you need them XX Jeannine

Tempura batter is the one the Japanese use...very very light, barely there,so the veggies or bits of meat or fish are not clogged with it.

1 egg
1/14 cups ICE COLD water
1 2/3  cups of plain flour( you can replace 1/3rd cup with cornflour for extra crispness.


Mixed very gently, and should still be lumpy..so don't go beating it, also needs to be very thin.

Please use ice cold water and if possible chill the mixing bowl.

Pieces should be patted dry and barely coated.

The batter is not heavy and as the pieces don't have a thick coat they don't absorb much oil when deep fried so very different to say.. fish and chip batter.

Oh I still cook the American way.. a measuring cup holds 250 ml of liquid, is also used to measure volume as in the flour.
