I have no more space over my allotment for growing the rest of my seedlings that i sowed 4 weeks ago.  They are all in small peat pots presently in a greenhouse and most have at least one set of true leaves.  Will i be able to successfully grow these in containers either in or out of the greenhouse, say one seedling per pot? The seedlings are cabbage, calabrese, ps broccoli and cauli.

You could find you will need a huge pot (bucket sized at least) for each to get it to maturity but you can keep potting up to larger pots until you get space to plant out after lifting and using produce.

I sometimes hold my lettuces back for a week or two by keeping some in pots rather than plant them all out together so that I have a more continuous supply.

Plants will grow more quickly in the greenhouse so putting them outside will slow down the growing process unless we get a heatwave. The green house may even be too hot for them and they could grow long and spindly.

PSB can be left until about August to place in their final growing position but  make sure there is enough room in the pots for their roots. And they are better out doors.

Next year try planning your needs in advance.

I work out prior to sowing what the numbers of each plant I have space for and just sow sufficient seeds to meet my needs, rarely do I have a surplus.

Have you got anyhting nearly ready to come out of the allotment (first potatoes, onions?) that you could replace with your seedlings?

When we start we are so grateful to see growth, any growth, we plant all the 200- 1000 seeds in the full packet.

Then it is like destroying our young not to try to use them all.

The seed trays are so large too, we think we have to fill them.

I now plant a few at a time in individual flower pots.  Sealing up the packets carefully to use the remaining seeds later. I still get too many.
