My 7 year old grandson sat in the garden with me telling me all about his 'mates' at school, how he could ride his bike holding on with one hand, and generally trying to be very grown up. Suddenly, pointing to dandelion seeds floating past he said in a very quiet voice :
Grandma - look there's two fairies holding hands.

We sat there in silence watching them till they disappeared over the fence.

Why do we have to grow up into big people.

Oh that's beautiful.

But we don't have to grow up and lose the magic of childhood - I know I haven't. (I love watching the trees dance with the wind and hoverflies kissing flowers - nature is a beautiful thing!)

Grandchildren are just the most wonderful thing eh GS?Is it because we have more time to spend with them instead of having to dash off to work whilst getting them ready for school?Or is it because we can hand them back at the end of the day?.Don't really know the  answer. But i treasure each moment with mine

BB - I heard someone say grandchildren and grandparents always get on because they share a common enemy!

BB - I think you are right. We are too busy trying to be good parents with our own children to appreciate some bits of their lives. Being a grandparent you have all the time in the world for them. I've got 4 of the little ones and adore them all. Do I really have time to come to work?

You are right Granny Smith - that sounds like a priceless moment. Shame children have to grow up hey?

Maybe we have to grow up into big people to appreciate the wonder of the world through the naive eyes of a youngster! DP
(wish we had spell check, that word doesn't look right!)
We don't inherit the earth, we only borrow it from our children.
