How to eradicate house ants?

I find putting on big shoes (size 13 or 13) and stamping on them works too. ;D

I poured the neat lavender oil down the hole. I know that we are not supposed to use it neat on our bodies (only in a carrier oil because it is too strong) perhaps its the same with ants.Tony took a carpet door strip up last year and the eggs were all underneath. I nearly died.

Neat peppermint essential oil also works (I have poured it directly where I want it or spread it over the floor/skirting board with a cloth) and I think Tea tree oil is another one that can be used to eradicate house ants. As shirlton says try not to get the above oils on your skin unless they have been diluted as they are very strong.

My shoes are not that big!!! Just size 4, so it would be a big shop to keep stamping on them.     :D :D

Have you found the nest, MIL had them in her bed room wall and they were everywhere when we pulled the skirting board there was just black underneath there was so many and had to get something injected into the wall to kill them. After 2 years and 6 treatments the ants are gone.

The nest hole is behind a big fridge I can not move on my own!!!  So, I can not get access to it !!!!    :-\ :-\

I can not get access to the nest hole, so I need to put something outside they eat and kill them.   >:( >:(

I can spray around the fridge, but not behind, as I can not move it without help !!! >:( :(

Could you not put a few drops of peppermint oil on cotton wool or kitchen roll and slide it under the fridge?
