HELP!!
When it rains I have all the channels.

When its sunny I lose all the BBC channels and Five Channels.

Does anyone know what would cause this and what would I need to do to fix the situation.

Thanks :)

Hiya

Maybe it is someone (upstairs) telling you that if it is not raining you should be outside in your garden doing the gardening!  And when it is raining you are allowed to relax!

I used to get a load of trouble - we even got welsh programmes some times and then I got "ghosting" or grainy pictures I paid for a booster but that really wasnt that good either.  In the end I invested in a Sky dish without any packages - I think it cost £120 fitted and the boxy thing inside!  And since then I haven't had any bother at all!

next door got any ladders ? pull the wire out on the back of the set top box or tv and see if there is any water in the end of the cable some times the cable gets a whole in it from scrapping on the tiles and when the rain comes this might effect the picture if this is the case will need to replace the whole cable

Snap Springbokgirlie!

I get in about 8pm during the week, think about food, sit down turn telly on and fall asleep!!  Wake again 10'ish and then get myself to bed!.  I was up this morning 5.30 and what a stunning morning it was - straight out with the dogs on the hills for an hours walk and mess around with chooks greenhouse, tunnel and lottie until time to go to work and then back again in the evening - dogs, feed them out to lottie and back home 8'ish!

Wouldn't have it any other way though.  Happy as Larry I am at this time of year!!!

Does your aerial need a booster?  Have you checked with your neighbours if theirs is working ok?

I would say it atmospherics but i cant spell it. A number of things can affect freeview and  i found this the main one. Also if there is any tall buildings in direct line of your arial can also affect the signal
When you wake up on a morning say "good morning world" and be grateful

Ohhh now I am tollally mystified now SBG, cos here its the other way around, sunshine we are fine, one spot of rain and we lose almost everything ::)

I'm told by OH who spent a whole Sunday up and down a ladder getting a new ariel to work, that the signal is poor at the moment as they're trying to cram lots of stations into a small band of thingy ( I'd zoned out by then) and you need a filter to get rid of all the rubbish.  A booster boosts the interference as well as the signal.

Then again I could be talking tosh as like I said, I zone out at anything electronic.
is it in the sale?

SBG's is the most common.  Low cloud keeps the TV signals closer to the ground - less disappears into space.  Low pressure is usually better for reception than high pressure.  This will still be the same with Digital as it was with analogue.  Bad picture associated with low pressure are usually to do with wind blowing the aerial.  In our case, bad picture is usually caused by a wood pigeon sitting on the aerial.  Shadow pictures are to with the signal bouncing off other objects - usually buildings and is rare with digital.

A few years back we had problems getting Channel 4 and always when Countdown was on.  There were problems with the local transmitter yet it always happened at the same time.  I wondered if there were milking machines used at that time, interfering with the transmitter.  I rang up several times to complain about it and it did improve.  However, it still went wrong about once or twice a month.

We decided to go for Sky so we could get Channel 5, UK Drama and the Sports channels.  (Freeview is not an option where I live).   Reception improved all round but when it is stormy, we have problems with that too.  It always happened when we were watching Satanda so I wonder if the signal strength isn't up to it.  In the end we stopped our subscription to Satanda but still pay for Sky Sports.

I went up agrade on virgin media so OH could have satanta sports but it seems to freeze in all the exciting moments (I don,t care much as I hate sport hehe)
