Early or not

I usually miss my Pauls himalayan musk rose  in full flush as I am away at a show, this year it is out in full, but slightly lacking in its heavy scent.

Has mine come on early, or was it always late, are they all coming on early?

Also it is throwing out extra growth, this does not usually happen on mine until after it has finished blooming.

It just sounds terminally confused by the current season, like the rest of us. Seen lots of Wisteria with leaves and flowers out together this year...  :-\
