 ;D

Just caught up with this, great plants Georgie! Mine looks just like that but the flowers keep dropping off. One chilli already making a break for adulthood, but doubtful about any more due to flower drop. Is it lack of pollination because it's indoors?

I certainly lose some flowers in the early stages too which I put down to lack of pollination.  I tap the stems gently each day and spray with tepid water too and after a while they seem to settle down.

Mine are getting there, about 25% are fruiting, I'm urging them to change colour! I would say pretty purple and newmex twighlight are by far the prettiest so far!

I just started planting mine on the lottie today.

None are flowering yet, even though some were sown in february.

Have had a great success with chillies this year, all through laziness really - or putting off things!
First time ever I sowed Inferno F1 on 17th Jan, indoors on a windowsill. 8 plants grew well out of 10 sown. When about 2" tall they were pricked out into 11cm pots, and I did intend to put them outside when it was warm enough,  but didn't get around to it  ;D
They're now about 2 ft tall and although not absolutely loaded with fruit, they currently each have about 4 to 6 fruits on that measure 4 or 5" long. Trouble is, they look so good I'm a bit scared to put them out, as they've been in this draught-free environment inside the house for so long. But thoroughly recommend the variety.

yesterday I had one bright red mature fruit on one of my chilli bushes. Something's eaten it in the night

Something or someone?

My furthest-forward plant is a Cherry Bomb and the first couple of chillies are almost an inch across -  full-size though still green. Husband is eyeing them up...

They look great G!
I've been given some cultivated land by my neighbor, so I have somewhere to plant out the rest of my chillies, the 90 or so in pots are looking good! Seeds saving going well, the tulle works a treat! I must take some pics!

What size pots do you use Georgie?

It depends, Anne.  'The baby' is in a 5" pot, Trifetti and Yellow are in 8" pots and Sicily (not pictured), a taller variety, are in 10" pots.

Look forward to your pictures, Biscombe.  Ninety in pots?   :o

Got a few fruits on Apache and Cayenne (I think, they are down at the lottie greenhouse). They look a bit wrinkly- is this normal to start with?

While we're on the subject of chillies, can anyone recommend a site that helps with the identification of them?

Thanks
