We are taking the daughter to look at Newport University next Saturday, (please let her get in!!) Are staying at the travelodge Saturday night, which has a delicious Burger King next door.............. :-\  was wondering, does anyone know of a good pub near there, pref with a garden if the weather is good, and not too expensive, that we could take her to for dinner?
Also looking for a beach we can visit..........I loves beaches! ;D

Lots of good pubs in the villages around Newport, depends on how far you want to travel. As far as I am aware the nearest seaside resort with beach etc is at Barry, the other side of Cardiff, but I am sure there might be places on the shores of the Severn estuary near to Newport which are accessible and have a beach though maybe not sandy.
