Ok. So the garlic is fat and tall. All the advice I have found says harvest when the foliage yellows and withers. Mine are starting to put up flower spikes. I know they aren't supposed to set seed, but should I be letting them flower?! Do I harvest after that? Yup. Had an allotment for AGES, but haven't grown garlic properly before. Thankyou.

I think you are supposed to pick off the flowers.

Pick off the buds and treat them like you would spring onions.

Dip the garlic flowers in tempura batter and deep fry......delicious  :P
You can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friends nose

It seems far too early for garlic to be ready-those flower spikes make me suspect it has been stressed somewhere along  the line. You may get a decent crop but I`m not that optimistic

I have completely forgotten where I planted mine :-[

Trouble is, I grow too much stuff.  Do they look like spring onions when they are coming up?   Must go search.

They look just like spring onions; mine are getting a bit big for that now.
