It is very expensive there in August.

Have you thought about a caravan?these can be pricey but cheaper than your quote.

We resorted to camping again. We are both in our fifties so was not sure how it would work out but apart from it taking us a lot longer to get the tent up than when we were younger we really enjoyed it .We were lucky with the weather though. Not last year as it was a wash out.

Some sites have amazing sea views that you would pay a fortune for in accommodation. ;D

You can sometimes get some good bargains with Hoseasons or how about dalton's weekly?

Does that include flights?  ;D

I stay at my Mum's in Truro.

Have you thought about staying in Mousehole? (pronounced mouz-ull),
just around the corner from Penzance.
It's very similar to St.Ives, but I suspect it would be a lot cheaper.

I thoroughly recommend camping at Ayr Holiday Park (St Ives)...Just above the town, short walk, stunning views, very nice people.

There are camping areas, plus they have beautiful mobile home style caravans.

Doesn't matter you stay in Cornwall, no places are very far away.  ;)

There are some cheaper cottages here:

My son, wife and two children have just been staying in a cottage just outside St Keverne on the Lizard.  It was very reasonably priced but I haven't been able to find it on a web search.  I will keep looking.

I have found it now.  http://www.southwestholidaycottages.com/pg55.htm

I've used this site several times & been happy with the cottages.  The specialise in Cornwall & Devon & have a range of standards & prices

We had a great time here a couple of Easters ago, they still have vacancies in August I see. The accommadation is fab, we stayed in the Red House a converted barn, they now have a Yurt as well if you want something a bit different! Great area to stay in too, easy for Eden Project, Heligan etc. Highly recommended.

If it's not pouring with rain, I'm either in the garden or at the lottie! Probably still there in the rain as well TBH....🥴

Sorted. 2 bedroom chalet at kenegie manor in August £500 on its own site with swimming pool and tennis courts sounds brill. Cheers for advice.
