At the end of my plot I have a large sycamore tree. I have cut some of the boughs down to about 2ft height. These then re-grow multiple branches which are very straight. Excellent for beanpoles. After a few years they rot but by thisn time some poles are grown

Coppicing :D :D I have planted a hazell and a purple filbert in the garden which I coppice for pea sticks and some bean sticks.

We now have a twig arbor made out of some curved boughs pruned off a bush of some type. I hammered some sawed off pieces of PVC pipe in the ground and stuck the boughs "feet" in those to help anchor them. Should hold up one season with some morning glories growing up it. I hope.
