I've gone and done it.  I'm now registered to take part in the Race for Life on 1 June 2008 in Cardiff.  I've quit smoking and this has been my main motivation, so the registration is complete, I had my first training run today and I've just made my online fundraising page with an initial target of £100 to raise, but i would be really chuffed to double that.......fingers crossed and wish me luck!!!

Good Luck, I really envy you, one of my favourite films is Joanne Woodward doing the Boston Marathon at 40 odd, it gets me everytime and I want to get out there and have a go, sadly I cannot but I truly wish you well

Well done, Posie.  My sis and I did the Race for Life about three years ago.  Fill your pocket full of jelly babies for extra energy and you'll be just fine!  ;D

LLB - I've pm'd it to you, thanks for asking.  Don't want to put it up here as I don't want to make anybody feel pressured into donating to a complete stranger!

It's going to be tough, I haven't run since I left school 20 years ago and even then I was rubbish at it! lol

I don't know many people affected by cancer, although my great grandmother died of it, but I didn't just want to give money to charity, I wanted to challenge myself at the same time and prove to my family that actually I can do things if I set my mind to them!!!  So to my brothers who sniggered (whilst sat on the couch smoking)...........ner!!!

Photo's will appear here no doubt with a government health warning lol

As for jelly babies, they are minging! Ick, it'll be winegums for me rofl  ;D

Thanks for all your support guys, means a lot.  :)
