Can anyone identify this 'weed'. A friend of mine brought it to me thinking I could tell her what it is and whilst it is familiar to me I have no idea what it is.
???

(Sorry for quality of pic, I had to scan it and my scanner is doing this weird yellow background!!)

Bindweed?

I think your right barnowl, coz they look like heart shaped leaves, just the way they are in the pic :D

Suzanne

Could it be Arum (Lords and Ladies, Cuckoopint). I don't think this flowers yet but its leaves look very much like your photo.

glosterwomble

thank you all, the leaves don't show very well on the scan so it does look a bit bindweed like which is what the friend had thought, having had to contend with bindweed in a previous garden I knew it wasn't that.

It is Lords and Ladies (Arum Maculatem) I've trawled google now thankyou  Suzanne, I said to her that it looked a bit Lily like so there we are!  :)

Lucky I put in a question Mark :)

Baaaaaaaa

Can you give us some sort of scale.

How big are the leaves?
How many leaves on the plant?
Do the leaves form a rosette on the ground, or is there a stalk with the leaves comming off ?
Maximus, Procerus, Vegetus
