Last year we put in some IOW Garlic Seed cloves and promptly watch them rot and all came to zero.  - Much sadness - never mind.  Now this year, I move some soil bags and find that there are 70 % of them 8 inches high, many leaved, and apart from being a bit blanched, and buckled they look very good.

I my mind they deserve to be given the chance.  Am I just being a softie - might they come to much ?

Exactly.......if they have the guts to grow under soil bags they deserve a chance. Might be worth fleecing them as they have been sheltered under those bags, just a thought ;)
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Star - good thought - I'll get them fleeced tomorrow.

Garlic's really hardy stuff; I bet they'll be OK. they may not have got any light, but they'll have established good root systems which is what matters at this time of year.
