I think he was a nice man with a good sense of humour.  He did an awful lot for charity too.  Fifty nine years of age is just no age to die is it?

That's a heck of a shock. I had the pleasure of chatting to him in a bar in Yorkshire in the 80's. He struck me as being just a regular fella. That's sad news indeed,
Ken.

Was one of the few peeps that made us smile by laughing at ourselves, will be missed
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.

Been out for the evening, just heard the news. Very sad news.

Jeremy Beadle was suffering with pneumonia. One of my cousin's daughters is in hospital with pneumonia and gastroenteritis.

Its very sad, Jeremy did make us smile...

Multiveg, there may been a complication of another illness that caused pneumonia with Jeremy. I take it your second cousin is much younger? If she is in hospital, she is in the best place for treatment and observation.

It is of course very worrying for you all, but keep positive. I will thinking of her and all of you.

Star xx
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

I recently was advised to have an injection (one off) against pneumonia by my doctor, which I've done, and I was given to understand that this would last me to then of my life........... how long that might be.

Vony.

Hot_Potato

It is indeed very sad news to hear. Jeremy had suffered some very serious illnesses in recent years and he would have almost certainly have been far more vulnerable to the pneumonia which in fact took his life.

Multiveg - I do wish your young relative all good wishes and hope she soon makes a full recovery. If it's any consolation, my eldest son had pneumonia (about 3 weeks after a fall from a building site some years ago) he was about 30 at the time - very worrying & frightening for us all but he thankfully made a full recovery

Multiveg

She has fitness on her side and she's only 41.

I'm not really a fan of Jeremy Beadle's humour.

I'm not really a fan of Jeremy Beadle's humour.

Neither was I but he was far to young to pop his clogs.

Rhubarb Thrasher

and he ran the infamous 3 day Bickershaw Festival in 1972, with an insane collection of bands including The Grateful Dead, Capt Beefheart, The Kinks, Hawkwind, Country Joe, Dr John, Wishbone Ash and errrm Stackridge

It has just been announced that his funeral will be on the telly.

You've been flamed.

Don't be offended, he liked a joke.

Not offended at all ACE.  As you say he loved a laff.  I was not a fan of his TV programmes, but you must admire him for the millions (yes literally millions) he helped raise for charity.

The Matt cartoon on the front of the Daily Telegraph was on the same subject.

Two angels at the pearly gates, one on a stepladder rigging up a bucket of water on the top of one of the gates, and saying to the other "When Jeremy Beadle opens the gate ........"

Followed by the wake, where a small finger buffet will be provided!

jockomorrocco

my friend always reffered to him as "The Clock" (one big hand and one little hand)

Multi,  JB, had leukemia? only 2years ago, he was very vulnerable.

He was a very kind generous man God rest his soul.

Multiveg

My cousin's daughter is out of hospital now  ;D. However, 3 others from her place of work had the same strain of pneumonia.  :o
