If it was me I would dig them up and dry them off. Then chit next year for planting out. But I am only guessing.....I'd like to see if I'm right or not :-\
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

Knock the shoots off and eat reasonably quickly... within the month.

Im glad Im not the only person to have taken a photo of a pile of spuds!

My friend was looking at the pictures on my phone the other day and was most amused to come across a snap of a carrier bag with muddy spuds in it!  Im sure he thinks im odd.

I inherited a few plants with the plot.  I banked the soil up around the plants, but they soon died and I guessed they wouldnt provide much.  Like you I was quite surprised when I turned the area over and found masses of spuds!  No clue what vareity they are,  but Im sure they will taste good :D
