Square Foot Gardening

I would be curious to know if anyone else here gardens using the principles of square foot gardening (www.squarefootgardening.com). 

On the limited scale that I can garden at present I have found this system to be very efficient and effective and would be curious to know if anyone has tried it on a larger scale?

This would be my preferred way to grow when I have an allotment, the only off putting thing is the hardwork needed to get it all set up (made much harder as I don't have a car to do the basic transport of materials with).  How'an ever it still looks as if it would be worth it.

trouble is - if you add together all the space taken up by the division boards you'd have all that extra space to grow things if you didn't bother with them in the first place - space is precious   ;)

I use the square foot garden approach at home but I don't use any divisions, just mentally divide it up. I haven't planted anything on the allotment yet as I'm still digging and clearing etc.
The square foot garden approach worked well in my small space I have at home. Everything seemed to have enough room and tasted great!  ;D

At its simplest that is exactly what this is, but he has taken some of the thinking out of growing with the grids and all.  The fancy woodwork is not for me - I will stick to reclaimed pallets.

Its more to do with spacing things.  Not all of us are natural gardeners. Everything I know I learned out of books so stuff like this comes in very useful for the likes of me.

hiya, rob, I've just been looking at a good site on the internet, just googled for it
we wouldn't use it on the plot, 'cos of the rotation thing but if you can sort that out, why not ?
good luck with whatever way you find to grow stuff, we all have different ways  ;D
