Our allotment is 2 allotments deep by 10 allotments deep. My allotment is at the back sandwiched between 2 other extremely overgrown plots full of brambes and nettles.
One of the vacant plots also has a vacant plot infront of it, this was taken by a lady called Jackie. Got manure delivered and had to barrow it up to my plot. Speaking to the farmer, he offered to clear Jackie's plot for her using the JCB!! She took him up on this and didn't stop at hers, he also cleared the plot next to me and also half of my plot, all in 2 hours !!!!

Jackie and I are now taking on the plot next to me.

Weeks of weeding has been saved and also gives us the determination to dig the rest over.

Though Im a no dig person myself, I know how daunting those plots are. So fair play to your friendly farmer and may the plotforce be with you!! ;D

We all need encouragement and you can at least get a headstart on your growing. Might I say you have a heck of a lot of lottie there.....well done
I was born with nothing and have most of it left.

sorry not too clear there... my "plot" is 5yds wide by 50 yards long. but yes it is nice to see clean soil instead of nettles

We had our plot ploughed before we took it over (council payed  ;D ) and it's a really good boost to the motivation, i totally agree!

Good luck, do take some piccies to show us  ;)
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened

Ah I see....nevertheless its a whole lot bigger than my garden, you'd still get a bad back if you had to dig it all ;)

Got bad back, dug half my plot - lost will to live - hence JCB!!!
