Please use this thread for posting photos on your entries. Please don't use this thread for discussion, use the other competition thread, otherwise the entries may get lost inbetween the discussion.

Photograph your largest pumpkin showing a tape measure around it's girth and clearly showing the measurement on the tape. A small prize is on offer to the winner, closing date for entries is 31st October at midnight so please have your photos posted in here before then. Entries should be in keeping with the spirit of the competition so no cheating please!

To remind you the rules copied from the other thread are:

Pumpkin must be grown by yourself
Judging will take place on 31st October, halloween. But you can photograph your pumpkin and post the photo anytime before that date.
Pumpkin must have been grown this year
Sowing dates, what you feed, variety is up to you
A photo with tape measure around pumpkin must be uploaded into this thread.
It must be a real pumpkin, not a plastic or any other man-made pumpkin!
Judges decision will be final :)

Big day tomorrow. I'll post a copy of my certificate after the weekend.

Heres our entry, why is it not straightforward to upload images? I do hope that these links have worked, we have had great fun growing this beauty, it was grown from seed "giant sumo", usual stuff, manure, lots of water and tom food. Obviously not the biggest but great fun and certainly do it again next year, any special tips welcome.

Just found out that I won 2nd place and got £20 worth of vouchers. The pumpkin is now at my local and is going to be made into soup. It was 70.5 inches round.

Considering the not ideal weather for growing pumpkins this year I think the entries were very good. It's time to announce the A4a 2007 biggest pumpkin winner. The winner will be awarded with a £5.00 voucher to spend at Ready to Grow, who have also very kindly offered to provide the prize for the 2008 biggest pumpkin competition.

First place goes to Crash with a 70.5 inch (179cm) pumkin

followed by deanc with a 60.5 inch (154cm) pumkin
and legendaryone with a 51 inch (129cm) pumpkin

Well done to you all ;D
