Nigella's great for a laugh - I spend the programme counting how many times she gurns at the camera.

I read at the weekend that she hired the bus that she's filmed on and the people on the bus are extras rather than 'real' people, much like most of her 'friends' on the series.  ::) Presumably she didn't hire the children as well...

Well if I am honest, I wouldn't mind being like her. She has class and is great looking to boot. Did anyone see her on the programmes with her first husband? I think his name was John Diamond, a journalist. He had mouth cancer and the way they got through it was admirable. She was such a supportive wife and a good mother. Nothing sexy about that senario. It was heartening to see their relationship during such an awful period. I think she can cook too, )lots better than I do!!)

Last night: maple syrup with blueberries looked a handy tip. I think it could be used on duck not just on pancakes (which were a bit too thick, I thought, more like pikelets).

Wonder if it would work with blackcurrants as well?

Yes, Barnie, I did the same with blackcurrants, but with sugar syrup, as we don't like maple syrup.  Nice and runny, poured it on vanilla icecream (from Farmers Market, of course).  The left overs were perfect as runny but not too runny jam.  :) :)

Great - thanks for the info :)

Did anybody else watch Bremner, Bird & Fortune tonight.  The Nigella sketch just summed her up perfectly.  Shallow, patronising and useless, not even a good cook!

Did the recipe I found on here for raspberry ice cream with natural yog - rather have an A4Angella  ;)
If I ever get it all right - then that's the time to quit.
