Sorry Hit the wrong button!!

Council are telling me to remove my 25 x 12 polytunnel by 31st October.

They had given me verbal permission twice and are not denying that I was given permission.  There had been an ex Tesco trolley park on allotments which was there for several years and was much larger than "structures no larger than 8 x 6".

Went to a meeting of Allotment Holders on Friday night - when again - my polytunnel was commented on and the fact that I should remove it.  But the meeting turned about as 99% said that council rules should change to allow polytunnels and greenhouses as loads of councils do allow these and they are "the way forward".

I need some support - if you have the time - to belt off some emails to Minehead Town Council www.minehead.co.uk/Minehead-Town-Council (I am not sure if you send all of that or part!  Being an Old Bird am not very computer literate!!)

Hopefully you will send enough emails by Tuesday lunchtime when they have a meeting for them to take notice.  I will be going to this meeting but really could do with some support from you lot.

I have support from the National Society of Allotment & Leisure Gardeners people.

I Will hopefully get this on this time!

Many thanks for your time!

old bird, the email address is info@minehead.co.uk

But we need your plot number and the site name when we email other wise they would not know what were talking about.

Perhapse you can draft an email we can copy and paste it and send?

What is the grounds they are asking you to remove it?? planning, breach of tennancy??

You can ask to appeal directly to the council.

Hi girls

Thanks for the messages!  I am never good when I get in a flap.

Good news is that I went to meeting and embarrassed them into letting me keep my polytunnel - they are changing the rules for applying for these in the future.  So a bit of a result which I am very pleased about.  Ho hum - now I can get on and get the plot clear for winter.  With all this going on I lost heart a bit!

Thanks for trying to help anyway!  I owe you.

Best wishes
