Admin aka Dan

Hi,

I have implemented a spoiler tag on the forum,

This means you can now hide text, like this

[spoiler]This is the hidden text[/spoiler]

Can be useful to not give away plot twists from films / tv shows, the end of jokes and other things.

To use it, either use spoiler tags in your message much as you would use img tags, or highlight the text when typing a message and click the

button.

Cheers

Dan

And I've tried it on a normal non - admin account and it works ....

Have you changed you Theme at all?

Do you see quotes in a box or do they appear as normal text?

[spoiler]The sp button does not have a little clicky tile like all the other buttons. Also the text I am inserting between the "spoiler in bracket" bits is not in a box. It appears like normal text.[/spoiler] (if that's what you meant. ???

Admin aka Dan

No, let me try to explain.

When someone is quoted, the quoted text appears in a little black box all on it's own.

The spoiler text should appear in the same type of box.

This is when you read a thread, not when you post a new message.

Could you take a screen shot of the thread display, and email it to me?

I must be being very stupid today, what part am I supposed to hi-lite in Dan's original message, and do I just hi-lite with left mouse, or do I need to click it afterwards? ???

I'll try putting a spoiler of my own:

[spoiler]It's my 40th birthday in January![/spoiler]

[spoiler]Useful for the punchline at the end of a joke - instead of having to scroll down![/spoiler]

OK, now I'm really confused  ???

When I read the last post from Grandma, there's nothing hidden, I simply see the whole thing as:

Quote from: Grandma on September 14, 2007, 17:56:18
[spoiler]Useful for the punchline at the end of a joke - instead of having to scroll down![/spoiler]

I presume that the line under the word Spoiler, is supposed to be hidden, it's not, none of them are!!  Is this because someone has "Spoilt" it, so therefore I can read it?

I don't understand a word of it either.   ::)

I am following this, and thank Dan for his ingenuity !!!

I think some members are not benefitting from the feature, perhaps for some obscure technical reason. What I see is a purple (lilac?) box, which appears blank, until I highlight it using my mouse, then the text appears ...
The impossible is just a journey away ...
