Isn't it something to do with the parsnips taking ages to germinate & grow and the beetroot comes through quickly to mark out the row & you can pull them before the snips need the space?  Or am i barking mad too?  ;)

Got me beetroot in . They look amazing cos there are no gaps. Lets hope that they grow some balls ;)

I mixed my beetroot seeds with my parsnip seeds this year and it seams to have worked.

I have heard this done with raddish seed never beetroot ,, :) Is It a new idea?
I was learned as a young un by my Grandad to sprinkle salt in the  drill as I was sowing  beetroot seeds .I still do this. Does anyone else?.

Picked a couple of small ones earlier and watered the ones I spaced out.Plenty of pellets waiting for the slugs.  ;D ;D ;D
