We have spent a fortune on tomato feed this year. Was wondering what feed everyone else used and if there was a cheaper alternative to Tomorite
When I get old I don't want people thinking
"What a sweet little old lady"........
                             I want em saying
"Oh Crap! Whats she up to now ?"

as per tim's post under another title - comfrey feed, grown on the plot and made up in buckets and diluted with water - has to be the cheapest and the best

BAK

on our site several plot holders make a comfrey-based solution.

One plot holder makes his with nettles.

If you are interested recipes can be found on our web site under "garden recipes"

Tomorite is about the most expensive tomato fertiliser you can buy.  You are paying for the brand name.  Own brands, such as Wilkos are equally as good at a fraction of the price!!

We use "jungle juice" from our allotment trading shed, alternated with home-made nettle potion.  Next year our comfrey plantation will be producing enough to feed everything in sight.  :) :) :)
